The popular Facebook-owned messaging service named WhatsApp has announced many new features in their app to fight against fake news in India due to LokSabha Election.The new feature Whatsapp ‘Checkpoint Tipline’ feature can be implemented on WhatsApp within the app with (+919643000888) number.When users add this number to their contacts and then to WhatsApp users will get the new Checkpoint Tipline feature in the chats where users report fake news and rumors which users receive theough image, video and audio format in their chats and groups chats.This new Whatsapp ‘Checkpoint Tipline’ Feature will support many languages including English, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and other languages as well.

The Facebook owned messaging service Whatsapp has announced this latest feature with collaboration with PROTO named Whatsapp ‘Checkpoint Tipline’ Feature and it is an Indian startup, and social enterprise MNC.When a WhatsApp user will share any fake news and misinformation which is false or rumors to Tipline the PROTO’s verification facility will respond to it and it will inform and the user on the chat will receive a message that the message he read is true or not. This will help users to know whether the news is accurate or true or it is fake and spreading rumors.

The Indian startup and social enterprise company PROTO is working with the base level to submit fake news and rumors that is spread in chats and groups specially in India as the LokSabha Elections are approaching to stop the spread of fake news and rumours and feature is named Whatsapp ‘Checkpoint Tipline’ Feature. The Indian Startup company PROTO’s has started this project to track the fake news and misinformation spread at a large scale and also the identification process will become easier.
