How does Under Display Camera Works in Xiaomi and Oppo Smartphones

A fight has been starting in the matters of removing notches from the smartphones and make smartphones bezel less and the Chinese smartphone giants including Oppo and Xiaomi has already showcased their under display camera on a video that is working on transparent screen and the selfie camera is hidden under the display and their will be no requirement of notch. Xiaomi's senior vice president Wang Xiang has posted a video on his Weibo account which explains how the new technology work.

The Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi has implemented this new technology of under display camera on their Mi 9 smartphone as shown in a video posted recently. Like other companies building a bezel on the side of the phone or implementing a notch or providing a hole in the display (aka dewdrop notch display) and the sensor has a covering of “special-low-reflective glass havinghigh transmittance.”

The Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi has said that the new technology o under display camera setup on their Mi 9 smartphone shown in the video and it is also occupies an area on the display which will become transparent shown in the video and the users can click selfies and videos and transparent screen will also double the camera lens.

The Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi has also told that by not doing invention to make the camera sensor (inevitable notch) as small as possible and the latest technology of transparent display system will help the larger camera sensor to capture a better image quality than the regular dewdrop notches.

This is the first part of the new technology and it is obviously not perfect as shown in the video but we can notice a faint outline of camera lens under the screen but it can also used as a area of the screen instead of a separate area for camera sensor.When this technology is compared with many notch-less solutions including pop-up selfie camera or flipping cameras in this no mechanically moving parts are present.

We know that a technology has came that can implement cameras under the display in a smartphone without having bad quality of the camera. Xiaomi is continously trying to improve this new technology and searching many area of improvement.There is Xiaomi's interest in doing new experiments in the smartphones inventing new technologies.
